Five for Friday: Oh So Tired

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching once again to share 5 random things from this week.  I'm going to apologize in advance for the lack of my own pictures...

I AM SO TIRED

1.  Goodbye Bulletin Boards
My desks are back in testing rows and the walls are pretty much blank again - took down what I needed to take down for testing, covered up what I didn't want to have to pull down from my anchor walls... and now we are basically ready for the upcoming Open House.  To cover things up, I pull out big sheets of butcher paper.  On one I write encouragement notes for the kids, the other is a class pledge that we all sign "I promise to do my best".

2.  Relay Recess
Today the entire school was outside for an hour walking and donating money to help support the Relay for Life cause.  This is our 4th or 5th year having a mini relay at our school - I can't remember how many years we have done it.  The kids raise money beforehand, and then bring some cash to buy water, snacks, throw a wet sponge at a teacher, or buy a piece of duck tape to tape a teacher to the wall.  The music is blasting, the kids and adults are all walking around the field, and the school is united in one cause.

3. Signed up for Bloglovin - Follow Me!
I've heard through the grapevine that things are changing sooner than later for our Blogger Feed - so I have chosen to sign the blog up for Bloglovin.  It is very easy to understand.  :)  Over on the right side there is a follow me button.  How it's working for me is that it sends me an email with updates from the blogs that I follow.  I had to sign the blog up though to participate.

4. Factor Flowers
Factor Flowers: Spring Factoring Craftivity
The kids loved this project.  I had them work in groups of 3 - each group having 1 row of numbers, 1 paper to fill in, and each person having their own template to create their factor flower.  They came out adorable and it was good practice.  Once I'm allowed to stick them up after testing, I'll put the group up together on my rolling carts.  What a great project!

5.  Raley's & Fun Friday Lunch
I went with my grade level friend today to splurge on a fun lunch.  I never have ever tried Raley's Wok Station - but it was SOO GOOD.  They also had these adorably delicious cupcakes that are piled high with frosting and are filled with deliciousness.  I decided that it was time to treat myself after a HARD WEEK of test prep, behavior issues (a kid was finally suspended yesterday), and just being nonstop busy.  Yum!

Hope you had a great day!

  1. I hate having to get my room test-ready.

I'm still in denial about Google Reader. I am not fond of change!

    Enjoy your weekend!

  2. Busy week! I could have gone for one of those cupcakes :) I'm not looking forward to the drab "testing" classroom, either. Boo to testing :( Have a great weekend!
