I love your buckets-the...What a helpful post Emily! I love your buckets-they look so colorful and how clever the way you hung them up! I use the same attention signal-it works so well. My students make up their own rules for the class (the same as we would come up with anyway) and every year since my first year, somebody will say "r-e-s-p-e-c-t" the teacher, each other, your friends, etc. Well, that's when I break out in song and dance to a little Aretha! I'm telling you this so you can post a video of you singing into a highlighter! :) What a fun filled day you have planned-the kids aren't going to want to leave!
